Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS), UW-Madison

“The Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS) is the focal point connecting East Asia to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. One of the UW-Madison’s eight federally funded National Resource Centers, CEAS is dedicated to all aspects of research, education, and outreach related to China, Japan, and Korea.”

Japanese Student Association (JSA), UW-Madison

The Japanese Student Association is a social and cultural organization intended to spread Japanese culture and contribute to diversity on the UW-Madison campus. Since the organization's establishment in 2014, there have been regular meetings and events for students of the Madison community who are a part of or interested in Japanese culture.

Madison Japanese Language School

Founded in 2009, the Madison Japanese Language School is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of the Japanese Government and offers Japanese language education every Saturday morning in Madison, Wisconsin.

Milwaukee Doyo Kai Japanese Saturday School

Milwaukee Doyo Kai Japanese School is a non-profit organization which provides children in the Milwaukee area the opportunity to learn Japanese language, art, music, and calligraphy.

Wisconsin-Chiba Sister States

Wisconsin Chiba, Inc., founded after the 1990 sister state partnership was formally established between Wisconsin and Chiba Prefecture, has fostered cultural and educational exchanges for over 30 years. The Chiba-Wisconsin Association (CWA), established in 2004, leads these efforts for Chiba, including hosting delegations and encouraging understanding, respect and lasting friendships between the two states.

Chiba Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) Program

The Chiba Prefectural Board of Education hires Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) from Wisconsin to assist English teachers in Japan. Wisconsin's ALTs commit to a one-year contract, renewable for up to five years.
